My Work

Teaching Philosophy | Family & Consumer Sciences

Students all learn in different way and at different paces. I believe in order for the students in my classroom to be successful they need choices and opportunities for hands-on experiences. My classroom will provide a variety of projects, group work, all while allowing students to utilize their talents and interests. Click on the above to learn more about my personal teaching philosophy.

Decades of Fashion | Interactive Learning

I created an interactive learning activity for my students who take my Fashion and Design course. This activity allows students to learn at their own pace, choosing their own path to learning the content. Students then take a quiz, being able to go back and review information they are unsure of. The above button links you to view the activity.

FCCLA
FCCLA | STAR Events

I have had the opportunity to be an active member of Missouri State University's FCCLA. As a member, I have attended State Leadership Conference for 2016, 2017 and 2018. I have also attended and presented at the Fall Leadership Conference in October 2016 and 2017. I competed on the collegiate level in Teach & Train during the 2017 State Conference & 2018 State Conference, earning a Gold rating, qualifying for National FCCLA Leadership Conference in July 2017, and earning a Gold rating. By attending each of these conferences and competing, I have been able to experience STAR Events as a both a student and a future advisor. This experience will help me to prepare future students for leadership and competition in FCCLA.
